For students and families

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

This policy explains what InfoTutor collects, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to students and families.

Information we collect

We collect account details; typed questions and homework images; working, explanations, forum posts, tutor replies and videos; family and tutor profile information; service and device information needed for security and reliability; and subscription status from our payment provider. InfoTutor does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.

How we use information

We use information to operate accounts, analyse questions, provide explanations, connect families and tutors, deliver notifications, manage subscriptions and credits, prevent abuse, keep the service secure, provide support, and improve InfoTutor.

AI and service providers

Question text and images may be processed by AI providers to create learning guidance. Specialist providers also support authentication, file and video hosting, email, payments, and technical infrastructure. AI explanations can be wrong, so students should check important work with a teacher, tutor, or parent.

Sharing and public content

Homework is private unless a user chooses to publish or share it. Public forum posts, tutor profiles, published tutor contact details, and tutor videos may be visible to other users or the public as indicated in the service.

Children and family oversight

InfoTutor supports school-age learners, including children. A child should only create an account or use InfoTutor with parent or guardian authorisation and supervision where required by law. InfoTutor does not currently ask users for a date of birth. Approved family features may allow a parent or guardian to view a connected child’s learning activity.

Parental requests

A parent or guardian can ask about, access, correct, or delete a child’s personal information, or withdraw an authorisation previously given, through Contact Support. We may verify the requester’s identity and relationship to the child.

Storage, security, and retention

We use reasonable safeguards and keep information only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain legitimate records. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Users can update many profile and sharing choices. Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information, or object to certain uses.

Contact and changes
